Students of the International Law<\/strong> program at Sumy State University<\/strong> once again took part in the All-Ukrainian Student Research Competition named after M. P. ORZIKH \u201cThe Human Dimension of Law\u201d<\/strong><\/a>, held at the National University \u201cOdesa Law Academy.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year, three students were selected to participate in the second round: Maria KULISH<\/strong> and Daria POLISHCHUK<\/strong> (supervised by Associate Professor Anna SLAVKO<\/strong>) and Nikita KOVALENKO<\/strong> (supervised by Head of the Department of International, European and Environmental Law Vladyslava ZAV<\/strong>H<\/strong>ORODNIA<\/strong>). Our students represented SumDU with dignity, competing with law students from leading Ukrainian universities – Kharkiv, Lviv, and Kyiv.<\/p>\n

As a result of the competition, second-year bachelor\u2019s student Nikita KOVALENKO<\/strong> won second place<\/strong>. His research paper titled \u201cEnsuring the Rights of Victims of Armed Conflicts through the Instruments of Documenting War Crimes: A Comparative Legal Analysis\u201d<\/em> addresses one of the most pressing issues in international law. In his study, Nikita identified key problems in existing approaches and, through comparative legal analysis of various documentation models, developed a comprehensive mechanism to improve Ukraine\u2019s legal framework in this field.<\/p>\n
