On June 12\u201314, 2026, an all-Ukrainian training for teachers “Integrating human rights standards and the rule of law into legal education”<\/a> was held in the village of Polyana, Zakarpattia region. The event was held offline with the support of the Council of Europe and the OSCE Support Program for Ukraine.<\/p>\n

As part of the three-day intensive, the teaching community of Sumy State University was represented by lecturers from the Department of International, European Law and Comparative Law: Mariia Plotnikova<\/a>, Olha Shvaher<\/a>, and Anna Slavko<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The main goal of the training was to strengthen the capacity of law faculty teachers to integrate Council of Europe standards, the practice of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), interactive teaching methods, and artificial intelligence (AI) tools into the modern educational process.<\/p>\n

The event program covered three key thematic blocks:<\/p>\n

  1. Council of Europe Standards in Legal Education.<\/li>\n
  2. HELP Methodology and Interactive Teaching.<\/li>\n
  3. Digital Tools and Psychological Support.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Based on the training results, the participants developed individual and institutional action plans to implement the latest interactive methods and digital tools in the educational process. The experience gained will further improve the quality of training for future lawyers and adapt legal education to European standards.<\/p>\n
