On May 31, 2023, an open lecture was held by the Czech lawyer Dr. Dominik Kralik. The meeting was attended by students majoring in “Law” and “International Law”, as well as the head of the Department of International, European and Comparative Law, the executor of the Jean Monnet Chair in EU Economic Policies and Civil Society Vladyslava Zavhorodnia, the deputy director of the Institute of Law for International Relations, the thematic coordinator of the project “Local Democracy: European Best Practices for Ukraine” Viktoriya Pankratova and assistant of the Department of International, European and Comparative Law, thematic coordinator of the project “The EU Migration Policy and Law in the Context of Sustainable Development Goals” Anna Slavko.
Dr Kralik, who, in addition to his research activities, is also a legal expert at the Analytical and EU-Law Department of the Compatibility Department of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic, focused on the prospects of Ukraine’s membership in the EU and the directions of development of the legal profession in this context. The topic generated lively discussion, especially regarding the skills future lawyers will need to practice successfully in the European Union.
