Goals of the project

Freedom of expression and information is a fundamental human right and a prerequisite for the rule of law, peace, sustainable development, democracy, and the effective functioning of civil society. The project is designed to promote excellence in teaching and research in the EU studies concerning the EU standards on freedom of expression and information, the EU media law and policy. It aims to improve professional training quality and equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge.

The objectives of the project are:

  1. to promote excellence in teaching and improve the quality of professional training of SSU bachelor and postgraduate students;
  2. to facilitate education in the field of European studies during the war and post-war reconstruction;
  3. to raise awareness of media and civil society representatives about European media standards and best practices; to encourage the broad public to the full use of opportunities related to freedom of expression and information for the development of civil society and a democratic state, thus contributing to the European integration of Ukraine;
  4. to promote excellence in research, generate knowledge and insights in support of EU policy-making, raise awareness of EU media law and policy, media and informational literacy, and European standards on freedom of expression and information.
