On October 12 and 14, lectures by NATO diplomats were held, organized for students and teachers of Sumy State University and Ivan Franko Lviv National University with the support of the Center for Regional Security Studies of Sumy State University. On October 10, Beata Protasova, head of programs for Russia and Eastern European partners of NATO’s Public Diplomacy Department, addressed the student audience. The issue of NATO’s media interaction with the Russian-speaking audience caused a heated discussion, however, all participants of the meeting had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with NATO’s communication position in a specific context.
On October 14, teachers and students attended a lecture by Dr. Petr Lunak, deputy head of the Cooperation Department of the NATO Department of Public Diplomacy, on the topic “The new strategic concept of NATO. Ukraine’s place in it”. The topic of the lecture was devoted to the new geopolitics, the strategic concept of NATO and the modern configuration of international security. Dr. Lunak answered questions related to reforms in Ukraine and the prospects for the implementation of the Euro-Atlantic course of our country, the role of youth in these processes, and also expressed his vision of the reasons for the transformation of the modern world legal order.
