Goals of the project

In a globalized world, migration has become a factor that significantly affects social processes. The impacts of migration processes are multifaceted and quite important in the context of sustainable development.

The project is designed to promote excellence in teaching and research in the EU studies concerning the EU migration policy, its values, principles, and implementation. It aims to improve professional training quality and equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge.

The objectives of the project are:

1. to promote excellence in teaching and improve the quality of professional training of bachelor students at SSU by developing and including in the curriculums a course dedicated to an in-depth study of the regulation of migration processes within the framework of the European integration, modern EU migration policy and law.

2. to facilitate education in the field of European studies during the war and post-war reconstruction, involving students and others whose educational opportunities have been affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

3. to raise awareness of forced migrants about their rights, duties, opportunities, and responsibilities; to involve a broad audience in public dialogue, to enhance the perception of the EU values and best practices.

4. to promote excellence in research, generate knowledge and insights in support of the EU policy-making, and raise awareness of EU migration policy and law.

The impact of the project:

1. formation of professional knowledge on EU migration law for students and online school participants;

2. drawing attention to the problems of improving migration legislation;

3. raising awareness of forced migrants about their rights and responsibilities.

The novelty of this project lies both in its specific focus (including sustainable development issues) and in considering the contemporary realities of migration, related primarily to the military invasion of Ukraine.
