Lecture by an American Attorney for International Law Students

On December 16, 2020, an online lecture by Youras Ziankovich, an American lawyer of Belarusian descent, on the peculiarities of the legal and political system of the United States of America was held as part of the course “Legal Basis of Public Administration in Foreign Countries.” The lecture was open, so it was possible to join not only sophomores studying the discipline, but also 1st year international law students, as well as interested students majoring in “History”, “Law”, PhD students and teachers of Academic and Research Institute of Law.

During the lecture, Mr. Zjankovic, based on case law of the Supreme Court of the United States and examples from his own practice, highlighted the division of competences between the Federal Government and State Governments, and answered numerous questions from teachers and students about the US legal system.
