Anna Popova, a PhD student of the Department of International, European, and Civil Law was selected to participate in the IX Summer School of Constitutional Law “Rule of Law and Constitutionalism”, organized with the support of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine.
In particular, during the event the issues of rule of law, the system of procedural human rights, the potential of constitutional means in overcoming crises, including the constitution and democracy in the post-truth period and its protection from barbarism, the institutional capacity of the state in the context of human rights were discussed.
During the week (August 02-09, 2020), judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, the Supreme Court, leading scientists and practitioners held classes with Summer School participants. In particular, the young scientists were trained by the President of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine Oleksandr Petryshyn, Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, UzhNU Professor Vasyl Lemak, Supreme Court Judges Dmytro Hudyma and Albert Yezerov, Chairman of the European Committee against Torture Mykola Hnatovsky, National Adviser to the OSCE Coordinator in Ukraine, D-r Oksana Hryshchuk, D-r Andriy Meleshevych, D-r Natalia Mishyna, D-r Stanislav Pogrebnyak, D-r Mykhailo Savchyn, D-r Stanislav Shevchuk, D-r Oksana Shcherbanyuk, Serhiy Riznyk, PhD, Yuriy Irkha PhD, Olena Kharytonova, PhD. The event was also attended by OSCE Ambassador to Ukraine Henryk Willandsen and the Head of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration Oleksiy Petrov.
