Module “Freedom of Expression” within the Courses “International Protection of Human Rights” and “International Mechanism for the Protection of Human Rights”

The modules “Freedom of Expression” within the courses “International Protection of Human Rights” (speciality 293 International Law) and “International Mechanism for the Protection of Human Rights” (speciality 081 Law) were completed in the spring semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. These modules were part of the educational project with a scientific component “EU Standards in the Field of Freedom of Expression and Information (101127062)” (Jean Monnet Chair of the Erasmus+ program, funded by the European Union).

The modules included lectures on various aspects of freedom of expression and practical sessions. During the sessions, topics such as the protection of freedom of expression in the activities of the UN, the Council of Europe, and the European Union were discussed, as well as the applicability of Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights, the protection of journalists, and the balance between freedom of expression and combating defamation, among others.

We thank the students for their active participation in the sessions and interest in the subject matter!
