The concept and the methodology

The proposed module aims at the development and introduction into the educational process of content modules on disciplines already exist at SSU for bachelors majoring in Law and International Law.

Among the educational components of the proposed Module, the following should also be listed:

The summer school “The right to access to justice: EU best practices and challenges for Ukraine”, is designed to promote the dissemination of knowledge about the best European practices in ensuring the right of access to justice, to promote the development of public dialogue regarding European integration processes and the implementation of necessary reforms in Ukraine, as well as to stimulate interest in European values and the activities of European institutions.

The “Digitalization of Justice” training for curators and consultants of legal clinics aims to familiarize its participants with the key aspects of the digitalization of justice systems within the EU and the importance of modern access to justice in an environment that is increasingly digitalized.

The workshop “EU Legal Clinics Best Practices in Ensuring Access to Justice” for curators and consultants of legal clinics is designed to demonstrate to this specialized audience how access to justice is ensured for citizens and businesses; what financial and human resources ensure access to justice in the EU; what tools developed within the EU can be used to improve access to justice in Ukraine.

A chat bot developed as an educational resource for the general public and aimed at spreading EU knowledge and values: developing on the Telegram platform that will help with the FAQ on the access to justice in EU for people fleeing from Ukraine.

All educational activities will be accompanied by conducting scientific research on the subject of the proposed Module, which will contribute to increasing the level of professional skills of persons involved in the implementation of the Module and the innovativeness of the Module itself.

Every year it is proposed to hold an event – a presentation, which will have the purpose of familiarizing a wide audience with the program of the Module and involving it in the annual activities.

A separate direction of the proposed Module is to improve the undergraduate student’s practical skills, who will study specialized issues related to access to justice in the EU, by involving them in the work of the SSU legal clinic. Students will be able to provide primary legal assistance and apply in practice the acquired knowledge and tools offered when studying special modules.

The development of legal educational materials on ensuring the right to access to justice in Ukraine and the EU will contribute to the spread of knowledge about the EU and European values, and will increase the level of legal literacy of the population.
