Associate Professor of the Department Anna Slavko studied Estonia’s experience in the recognition of qualifications

From October 4 to 8, 2024, Associate Professor of the Department of International, European Law, and Comparative Legal Studies Anna Slavko, as part of the delegation from Sumy State University, visited Tallinn University of Applied Sciences. The visit took place as the final meeting within the framework of the project “Qualifications recognition support for Ukrainian universities (QUARSU), aimed at improving higher education standards in Ukraine and providing scholars and educators with insights into the best practices of the European Union in education and qualification accreditation.

During the visit, the project team studied Estonian approaches to recognising qualifications. An essential aspect of the program was learning about the institutional accreditation process for higher education institutions, a critical element for ensuring transparency and trust in Estonian diplomas at the international level. Additionally, Tallinn University of Applied Sciences representatives shared insights into the functioning of their internal quality assurance system for education.

Such exchanges of experience contribute to expanding professional networks and improving the academic programs of Ukrainian universities, which is a significant step towards integration into the European educational space.
