Interfaculty Seminar

On 19 November, as part of the Interfaculty Research Seminar of Sumy State University, the Head of the Department of International, European and Comparative Law and coordinator of the Jean Monnet Chair project “EU Standards on Freedom of Expression and Information” (101127062), Vladyslava Zavhorodnia, delivered a presentation titled “Experiences of Implementing Wartime Censorship in Foreign Countries in the 20th Century.”

The event was open to the public, allowing not only lecturers and students of Sumy State University but also other interested participants to join the discussion.

In an accessible and engaging manner, Vladyslava Zavhorodnia presented the project’s research findings and offered a series of conclusions concerning legitimate restrictions on freedom of expression within the complex historical and geopolitical context that combines, on the one hand, the threats associated with martial law and, on the other, the challenges of Ukraine’s European integration.
