From December 5, 2025, to February 13, 2026, department faculty members Mariia Plotnikova and Tetyana Malanchuk participated in the 3rd HWPL Peace Education Teacher Training in Ukraine. The training brought together educators from across the country in an online format to share best practices from Ukraine and abroad on conducting peace lessons, adapting the program for different age groups of students, and developing education in wartime conditions.
The 3rd HWPL Peace Education Teacher Training in Ukraine was conducted by the international peace organization “Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light” (HWPL) with the support of and via the online platform of Alfred Nobel University.
HWPL, an international non-governmental organization for peace registered in Seoul, South Korea, with the UN Department of Global Communications and holding special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), carries out peacekeeping activities in 170 countries worldwide. During the full-scale war, HWPL supports Ukraine through international statements and conferences, humanitarian aid, support for refugees, and educational initiatives.
Conducting peace education classes has a direct and systematic impact on achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 16 “Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions,” as the curriculum is designed to instill in students universal values such as understanding, respect, law-abiding behavior, and justice.
Upon completion of the training, the teachers received certificates and credentials as HWPL Peace Education Teachers.
