EU Standards of Freedom of Expression: Tools for Educators, Media Professionals, and Civil Society

In November–December 2025, the professional development programme “Freedom of Expression and Media Freedom in a Democratic Society: Standards of the European Union” is once again being implemented at the Centre for Human Resources Development of Sumy State University.

The aim of the Programme is to develop new and enhance previously acquired competencies related to the use of key EU standards concerning freedom of expression, media freedom, and media literacy, as well as the use of official databases for searching and verifying necessary information.

Within the Jean Monnet Chair project “EU Standards of Freedom of Expression and Information” (101127062), the Programme’s instructors and facilitators were the project coordinator Vladyslava ZAVHORODNIA, Dr Mateusz KAMIONKA (Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland), and the Head of the Centre for Human Resources Development at Sumy State University, Vita HORDIIENKO.

Цього семестру на Програму зареєструвалося понад 90 слухачів. This semester, more than 90 participants registered for the Programme. Given security considerations and issues with communication and electricity supply, the organisers provide access to video recordings of the sessions as well as comprehensive methodological support.
