On April 7, 2023, on the basis of the Academic and Research Institute of Law of Sumy State University, a training for consultants and curators of legal clinics «Consulting in the field of protection of the rights of consumers of financial services: a practical toolkit for legal clinics» was held.
The event took place within the framework of the implementation of the project 619998-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE «European standards for the protection of the rights of consumers of financial services» under the Erasmus+ program directed by Jean Monet.
More than 100 participants attended the training. There were the representatives of various educational institutions and the legal clinics community such as: Ukrainian State University named after Mykhailo Drahomanov, Separate Structural Unit «Kitsman Professional College of the Institution of Higher Education «Podilskyi State University», Lviv State University of Internal Affairs, Educational Legal Center of Higher Education institution of the Poltava University of Economics and Trade Union, National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, Mariupol State University, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Mykhailo Kotsyubynskyi State Pedagogical University of Vinnytsia, Lviv Institute of PJSC «VNI «MAUP», Volyn National University named after Lesya Ukrainka, State Tax University, Cherkasy State University of Technology, Ukrainian Catholic University, National Aviation University, National University of Water Management and Nature Management, Odesa State University of Internal Affairs, Kharkiv National Pedagogical University named after H.S. Skovorody, Lviv University of Trade and Economics, Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko.
Among the key issues discussed during the event were about the practice of consulting in the field of financial services, methods of working with clients during the provision of consultations, practical aspects of communication with the client, about the experience of a practicing lawyer in helping clients solve issues related to fraudulent schemes in the field financial services, about the specifics of disclosure of pre-contractual information and its importance for protecting the rights of consumers of financial services.

During the second part of the event, there was a group discussion of the cases prepared by the team of the project 619998-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE «European standards for the protection of the rights of consumers of financial services» in order to practice the practical skills acquired during the training.
Based on the results of the training, participants will receive certificates of participation in the training «Consulting in the field of protection of the rights of consumers of financial services: a practical toolkit for legal clinics» (4 academic hours).
