On April 3, 2021, as part of the educational project «Enforcement of European Union Values in Ukraine», a workshop «The rule of law and democracy as EU values» was held.
In the framework of the educational project «600115-EPP-1-2018-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE Enforcement of European Union Values in Ukraine», supported by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (Jean Monnet Module of the Erasmus+ Programme) workshop «Rule of Law and Democracy as EU Values» was held. This is the 12th project event aimed at disseminating information about the values of the European Union among students, the academic community and professional lawyers.
This year the event was dedicated to democracy and the rule of law. The speakers of the event were:
- the head of the expert group Bureau of Policy Analysis, practicing political technologist Viktor Bobyrenko;
- Ph.D in Law, associate professor, expert on legal support of local government Anatoliy Chernyavsky.
The first speaker focused on certain aspects of countering propaganda and manipulation in the media as a means of populist politic, while the second pointed out the problems faced by local communities in Ukraine.
Almost fifty participants, representing both the leading education institutions of Ukraine and the professional community (the barristers, civil servants, the judiciary, etc.) joined the conversation about the value of the rule of law and democracy.
