The Head of the Department Vladyslava Zavhorodnia, and students majoring in International Law, Kristina Karnaushenko and Tsovinar Movsesyan, took part in the European Summer School on the Rule of Law “What is the EU? Analysis of the relevance of Article 2 TEU: an exchange of experiences”, which took place based on SWPS University in the city of Sopot, Republic of Poland, from August 29 to September 4, 2024. Participation in events within the School became possible thanks to the support of the European Reform University Alliance, the National Agency for Academic Exchanges of Poland, the Economic Freedom Foundation, and the SWPS University.
The event program included lectures by leading scientists from Poland, Australia, Israel, Slovenia, and Bulgaria, as well as discussions on EU values and their practical implementation. The experience of communication between the school students, among whom there were representatives of Germany, France, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Spain, Poland, and Ukraine, became extremely interesting. In addition, the students of the Summer School visited the European Solidarity Center in Gdańsk. They had the opportunity to talk personally with Bohdan Lis, a member of the civil resistance movement “Solidarity,” and Adam Bodnar, the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Poland.
