The second online school on EU migration law

From March 30 to May 22, 2024, the Second Online School “EU Migration Law” took place, organized within the framework of the educational project with a scientific component “101098859-EU4Migration-ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH-UA-IBA / ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH ‘Migration Policy and EU Law in the Context of Sustainable Development Goals'” under the Jean Monnet program of Erasmus+.

The school participants had the opportunity to engage in intensive work on the current issues of EU migration law. The program included studying the history of migration processes in Europe, the institutions operating in the field of migration, the main provisions of Schengen law, and the protection of human rights in migration procedures.

The school lecturers were project team members Anatolii Honcharenko, Olha Shvaher, Vladyslava Zavhorodnia, and Anna Slavko. Additionally, the school hosted a webinar “Rights of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). The status of persons in need of temporary protection in the EU”, with lecturers Rostyslav Nepyyipa, Senior on protection monitoring on IDP situations at the “Right to Protection” charity foundation, and Lyudmyla Rudenko, Ph.D. in Law, Associate Professor, and Secretary of the Council on IDP issues at the Sumy Regional State Administration.

More than 100 people registered for the school, but only over 69 participants successfully completed the training. These participants represented the legal professional community (lawyers, investigators, legal advisors, educators) and broader segments of the population (school students, general education school teachers, etc.).
