The project objectives

EUJustice4U project is related to the important issues of the access to justice in EU and the implementation of the EU standards into Ukrainian legislation.

The concept of project “Access to justice: best EU practices for Ukraine” is developed in such a way that, through teaching and research, comprehensively covers all the above-mentioned issues, conveys to a wide audience the key EU standards of access to justice, to help vulnerable people, who apply to the legal clinic of SSU for resolving the questions related the access to justice.

The objectives of the project:

  1. to promote excellence in teaching and improve the quality of professional training of SSU bachelor students majoring in law, international law.
  2. to facilitate education in the field of European studies during the war and post-war reconstruction, involving students and others whose educational opportunities have been affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine (including those who have been forced to leave their homes and study and those remaining in areas close to hostilities and/or occupation, and post-occupation territories).
  3. to promote excellence in research, generate knowledge and insights in support of EU policy-making, raise awareness of EU best practices for Ukraine on Access to Justice; to actualize the discussion of these issues in the academic world, representatives of public administration, and civil society.
  4. to reach out to a wider public and spread knowledge about the EU to the wider society (beyond academia and specialised audiences) bringing the EU closer to the public.

The project is important in view of the European integration processes in Ukraine, the need to solve already existing and prospective problems regarding access to justice in connection with Russian aggression, and the need to use the EU’s experience in building a transitional justice system.
