The impact of the project

Target audience of the project:

  1. Students majoring in “Law” and “International Law” who will be offered separate modules within the existing courses in “Legal clinical education”, “Commercial law and process”, “Transitional Justice”,”European Law”, “Comparative Judicial Procedure Law” devoted to issues of access to justice;
  2. Curators and consultants of legal clinics, to whom the workshop “EU Best Practices in Ensuring Access to Justice” and the training “Digitalization of Justice” will be addressed;
  3. Academics, legal practitioners, civil society actors, public servants, local policy-makers, and the general public involved in project activities, in particular by participating in the presentation event, Summer School “The right to access to justice: EU best practices and challenges for Ukraine”, scientific and practical round table.

The impact of the project:

  • publication of research results in the short, medium and long term is considered in order to: disseminate information on the EU best practices and standards ensuring access to justice among the target audience; cooperation with members of the scientific community who have common scientific interests in this field; and in the long term also work in a research community to continue research in this field.
  • organization and holding of special events in the form of project presentation, trainings, workshop, online school and round table: in the short term it is important to disseminate information about the project and the program within which it is implemented, involve the target audience in specific project activities and determine specific results; in the medium and long term – improving the target audience’s understanding of the EU best practices and standards ensuring access to justice project and the possibility of applying the developed ideas and methods in practice to improve access to justice in Ukraine, solving urgent problems that exist in this area, promoting the dissemination of the exemplary experience of the Legal Clinic of Sumy State University in preparation and provision of legal consultations, preparation of procedural documents, holding of legal educational events and thus facilitating access to justice for broad segments of the population.

training of highly qualified specialists in the field of law, who will ensure the high standards of access to justice in the short, medium and long term, will be implemented through the teaching of content modules by students, participation in the project activities and practical activities based on the legal clinic. This direction is important in view of the European integration processes in Ukraine, the need to solve already existing and prospective problems regarding access to justice in connection with Russian aggression, and the need to use the EU’s experience in building a transitional justice system.
