In the Fall semester of the 2019/2020 academic year, students of the bachelor’s degree in Law, full-time, part-time, and distance learning, had the opportunity to join the elective course “Values of European Union”. The course is implemented within the educational project “600115-EPP-1-2018-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE “Enforcement of European Union Values in Ukraine,” with the support of the EACEA, Module Jean Monet Program Erasmus Programme+.

The second cycle of teaching was provided by the head of the International, European, and Civil Law Department, the project coordinator Vladyslava Zavhorodnia and project executor Anna Slavko. Given the adoption of the Standard of Higher Education in specialty 081 “Law” of the first bachelor’s degree in higher education, the acquisition of competencies in the field of knowledge and understanding of the basics of European Union law (special competence № 6) is now mandatory for higher legal education. Therefore, the EU Values module was chosen by more than 50 4th year students of the Institute of Law.

The achievements of the first year of teaching within the project became an organic part of the second cycle. The course was enriched with new cases, tasks for discussions and debates, and opportunities for self-study within the open educational course “Values of the EU”.

It is nice to note the great interest of students in the issues of the course, which found its manifestation, particularly in the research work, participation in scientific and practical conferences, participation in the All-Ukrainian competition of students’ research papers in “Law” and “International Law”.

As a result of teaching the educational project team conducted a survey of students, which showed a high level of satisfaction with the knowledge and competencies acquired during the course.
