Module “Common Foreign and Security Policy: Legal Framework for EU-Ukraine Cooperation” within the Jean Monnet Chair in EU Economic Policies and Civil Society

From September 1, 2020, the project the Erasmus+ Programme “Jean Monnet Chair in EU Economic Policies and Civil Society (619878-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-CHAIR) (2020-2023)” is implemented in Sumy State University (academic coordinator Prof. Oleksandr Kubatko) with the support of the European Education and Culture Executive Agency.

Vladyslava Zavhorodnya, the head of the Department is a member of international and interdisciplinary project team and one of the responsible teachers from Sumy State University.

Due to implementation the project from April, 2021, students majoring in International Law start to learn a module “Legal support of cooperation between Ukraine and the EU in the field of foreign and security policy.” Students will have lectures and discuss practical cases in line of the main legal aspects of the common foreign and security policy, the issues of creating an area of freedom, security and justice in the EU. The subject of detailed study will also be the political part of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, the problems of implementation in Ukraine of the EU acquis and the harmonization of Ukrainian legislation with EU law.
